I was so stunned to hear of Mona's death. She was one of my very best friends. She and I met in 1995, when Michael and I had just moved to Dallas, at work in a NF close to her home in Oak Cliff. She kept me sane those many months there, and we went on to work together at several other sites. People called me "Mona-twin" when I first arrived... Mona and I were both blondes and had fair skin and curly hair. Later, after you had moved to Denton, she used to bring Ella by my home to visit. How I loved her visits!!! We always had a cookie for Miss Ella, and a big hug for each other! Through the past 17 years, we often emailed, talked by phone or got together to have lunch, show pictures and talk about our trips. After she survived cancer, we did the Komen walk together. Then, when Mike died, Mona came and stayed with me, went to the funeral home with me, spent the night, brought Ella to comfort me, and helped me survive that awful, awful time. My heart is so heavy this week and my eyes full of tears; I can't believe she's gone. I loved and admired her so, loved her silliness and her strength. My heart and love go out to you Ron, Jeff, Juliana, Melissa, Miss Ella and Miss Bebe...this unique and beautiful woman was a privilege to know and will be greatly missed. I was lucky to call her "friend." My hope for you all is peace, comfort and strength to face the days ahead... With much love, Karen Bieber.
