The entire Davis family, in fact, came to my rescue after Mike died. Mona and Ron visited and attended his service, Mona gave me numerous suggestions of pieces to be read at his funeral, Ella visited and Jeff generously read "To An Athlete, Dying Young." Mona and I had a silly little thing we'd do whenever we talked on the phone... I'd say, "Is this Mona Davis!?!" to which she'd reply, "Is this Karen Bieber!?!" ... it always gave us both a laugh. I hope she knew how very much I loved her.
